Freelancing is quite into the news for past couples of years and almost every Pakistani is getting familiar either with this word or they simply call it a mechanism of making money from internet by doing a number of tasks without leaving your home.

Federal and Provisional governments of Pakistan have launched their projects to equip the youth of Pakistan with latest digital skills that can be used into the online industry as service in return of which they will get paid.

E-Rozgaar

Punjab Government (Ministry of Youth Affairs in collaboration with PITB) introduced a program called E-Rozgaar which is designed for fresh university graduates. It is free to join, there isn't any admission fee or monthly tuition fee, however, you must fulfill the following criteria.

  • Must have completed 16 years education
  • Must be under 35 years of age
  • Must not be doing a full-time job
  • Must have a domicile of Punjab province

E-Rozgaar Program has its centers in all prominent districts of Punjab. They follow the traditional classroom learning model which means students will have to attend classes regularly. All their centers are equipped with government-funded laptops and furniture.

The project was started back in 2017, and so far thousands of students have completed their freelancing course. E-Rozgaar provides three courses that you can choose from:

  • Technical Domain: (where you learn PHP, Java, Programming, WordPress)
  • Content Marketing: (where you learn Facebook Marketing, Content Writing, Blogging, and SEO)
  • Creative Design: (where you learn Logo Designing, Photo Enhancement, etc)

Each domain is being taught by a different trainer who himself is an expert of his domain. There are few flashpoints to keep further in mind:

  • Lectures are delivered 4-days a week
  • Every lecture would be of 1 hour and 30 mins
  • Each session is completed within 3-months

One of the interesting things about E-Rozgaar is, at the end of every batch, a hackathon is conducted where students present their ideas in teams, and the best team gets a chance to make their mark in the startup ecosystem, which itself is a great opportunity other than learning freelancing for free.

E-Rozgaar v/s DigiSkills - Which One to Join?

As both are being offered free of cost, and both the programs have the best trainers and experts, it is recommended to join both for the sake of learning. There is no harm in learning from both platforms simultaneously. However, while talking about the results, E-Rozgaar has been performing well as students who are getting trained there are producing more success stories and are going at great lengths.
